The Anelise Adams Story
Anelise at the age of 12 was struck by a car while attempting to
cross the intersection of Stewart and Cumberland on in-line
skates. She sustained head injuries and after spending a week
in the hospital she passed away.
Anelise loved animals, played the flute and was involved in
several sports, including soccer, basketball and swimming. She
was a popular student at Lincoln Junior High School in Park
Ridge. One of her teachers said "She was popular because she
treated people well." She was a sweet, kind, warm girl who
cared about others. Anelise found humor in everything and had
an infectious giggle that would make her whole family laugh.
She had a smile that would brighten anyone's day.
The Anelise run was organized by family and friends who she
touched and they want her love of life never to be forgotten.
All proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and in the
last 10 years since the Anelise Run has begun, 85 wishes have
been granted.
